Roommates
RUMI is intended for people who are at least 18 years old and need to find a roommate for a shared living unit. Persons under the age of 18 are prohibited from creating Roommates accounts.
You affirm that you are either at least 18 years of age, and are fully able and competent to enter into the terms, conditions, obligations, affirmations, representations, and warranties set forth in these Terms, and to abide by and comply with these Terms. In addition, you affirm that you have not been convicted of a crime and do not have more than one Roommate account. You affirm that you are not a landlord or other apartment owner or lessor who is attempting to rent a space to anyone other than someone who wants to share your living unit with you.
We may, in our sole discretion, refuse to offer the Services to any person or entity. We may, without notice and in our sole discretion, terminate your right to use the Services, or any portion thereof, and block or prevent your future access to and use of the Services or any portion thereof. You shall not post any pornographic or nudity pictures on your profile.
Rumi is not liable for any criminal acts, fraud, or experiences that users may encounter on our website with other users. Beware that our website offers a service to diverse people, before settling on a roommate here are some of the precautions you can take :
- Meet in a public setting/ virtual meeting, or go with a friend to meet your new roommate
- Look for Social media accounts, they may help guide you
- Ask for references
- Follow your instincts
- Create a lease agreement
While these precautions may assist, RUMI does not guarantee they will. If you feel unsafe or a victim of fraud or criminal acts, please do not hesitate to report the account to us and we will liaise with the police to assist you if any criminal act has occurred.
Properties
Rumi is not liable for any real estate fraud or criminal acts with regard to property management, property rental/vacation, and property sale. Rumi only acts as a third party in advertising properties and connects clients to buyers. While we vet properties submitted on our website, we cannot guarantee smooth transactions with the property owners/ agents.
Fees.
Generally. You may be required to pay fees to access certain features of the Services. All fees are non-refundable. If RUMI changes the fees for all or part of the Services, including by adding fees or charges, RUMI will provide you advance notice of those changes. If you do not accept the changes, RUMI will discontinue providing the applicable part of the Services to you. You authorize RUMI to charge all fees as described in these Terms of Use for the Services you select to that payment method. If you pay any fees with a credit card. Please not RUMI does not store payment information
Hyperlinking our content
The following organizations may link to our Website without prior written approval:
